It's pretty much a guaranteed fact - rock 'n' roll is waaaay tougher than fashion. Who'll disagree with that?
After all, rock stars are wild-haired, tatooed, drug-smoking, head-banging, guitar-playin', shrieking gods from the metal halls of Valhalla. Fashion designers are boys that were really good at Home Economics.
But is that everything? After all, rock stars, especially these days, are increasingly whiny, with long shiny hair, and hands that have never done any physical labour.
Ozzy used to work in a morgue, remember. Times have changed.
Look at fashion designers now. In particular, look at a beat-up Tom Ford:
Sure, it's probably make-up, but when was the last time you looked this rough?
In the 80s, the razor-sharp bad boys were Guns 'n' Roses, a rock group with enough slick showmanship to become pop idols. They thrived on their deathly tough image, with the tattoos and the wild hair.
In 2006, though, every knew that Axl Rose was just an embarrassing old man when fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger punched him right out.

Apparently, Rose moved a drink belonging to Hilfiger's girlfriend. Yes, that's it. That's all it takes to set off a designer, man. They're right on the edge, man. They're always at full throttle. Just give 'em an excuse and they'll knock your block off. Get in the Ring!
