To see or not to see...

I, like many other people out there, am a glasses-wearer.
I have to wear glasses all the time (except when I wear contacts), so they are probably the most important accessory I own. If you wear glasses, it’s important to have a pair (or two or three!) the suits your face shape, colouring and says something about you. Of course, nothing beats going to your Optometrist and trying a bunch of frames on, but if you have an idea of what you want, it can be cheaper to buy the frames online.
According to the Vision Council of America there are three main things to remember when choosing frames:
•The frame shape should contrast with the face shape.
•The frame size should be in scale with the face size.
•Eyewear should repeat your personal best feature (such as a blue frame to match blue eyes). (For more info visit of www.allaboutvision.com)
Here are some styles for you to think about:
Statement Glasses:
If you, like me, are willing to embrace that you are optically challenged, then why not give statement glasses a go. Look for plastic frames in funky or dark colours. If you’re going for a bright colour like red or purple, keep the shape conventional (a slightly rounded rectangular shape suits many face shapes) and the frames on the thin side, but if you’re going to get plain black frames then go for something a little more out there (sharper angles, bigger frames with thicker arms). Here are some examples, courtesy of www.framesdirect.com and www.bestbuyeyeglasses.com.
Understated Glasses:
Sometimes you want people to see you and not your glasses. For an understated look, try thin metal frames (still in a style that suits your face-shape) in bright metallics, wireless frames (though be careful as they make you look older) or fine plastic frames in warm tones (browns, beiges or even tortoiseshell). More pics for you to squint over. Hahaha, I crack myself up.

Maybe try roundish ones that flare out and up slightly at the temple to add width to your face, without looking crazy big.

bright colours are great, but make sure that the compliment you skin tone. for something a bit diffrent try greens. they tend to work well for most people.
my favourite brand of specs is la font. they have a concept store on oxford st in sydney and are hot french frames that feel great on.
