The first of two very fashionable Kates that I will mention in my "style icon" series (no prizes for guessing who the other one is!).
Kate Hudson is Hollywood royalty, as well as a multi-award winning actress.
Her fashion philosophy seems to closely mirror her personal philosophy; laid-back, happy, a bit hippy and a bit surfy. Until she hits the red carpet, where she works brightly patterned maxi dresses and finely tailored strapless cocktail dresses like no one else in Tinseltown. She is one of the plethora of celebs who calls Stella McCartney a pal, and you can often see her sporting Ms McCartney's designs.
By day you can catch her on location or at the beach with friends pro-sufer Kelly Slater or co-star Matthew McConnaghy, wearing loose white tops, comfy jeans, flats, hippie blouses and of course her Trilby hat.
