Street Chic - Carlton Station
January 30th 2007 13:06
On Sunday morning, I was waiting patiently for my train to arrive when I spied this cutie pie.
Her name is Cindy, she's 17 years old, and she's an international student from Guangdon, China. Though my Chinese is pretty poor, I managed to find out that she studied art at her high school back home and that she wants to be an interior designer.
We chatted from Carlton to Central about all kinds of random stuff, but somehow we couldn't get a fashion conversation going because I didn't understand enough Mandarin and she didn't understand enough English...she did tell me though that most of the stuff she was wearing was from stores around the city.
Her stay is temporary, but she loves Sydney and hopes to move here in the future. Yay, I hope she does, she's awesome!

I always enjoy your Rovin' Fashion Reports very much, this is no exception...
It is an interesting statement that Cindy is making, I'm just not sure what it is because, 17 is so far ago for me, well I've almost forgotten ever being there in the first place *lol* so, I am trying to work it out ... and I don't mean that in a derogatory way ... trying to gain insight into the current life in [transforming] China through 'the look,' is all.... hmmm, stll pondering?
I do see transition here, indeed...
The torn hem-line has me stumped, btw?
But it is an interesting look... I agree
You are the fashion guru goddess, Sisi
no doubts...

Cibby you seem like such an 'interesting' person
AnthonyB well perhaps you can go on exchange and take some stuff from Oz with you and people overseas will think you're swanging too.
Tracy not sure why exactly but I think most people think I'm really really weird when I randomly meet them and ask for their picture
katyzzz I like her whole style so I guess that covers the boots and bag...
Lilla I don't know whether her look is typical of China, but it's definitely not something you see everyday in Carlton. If you're talking about that random strap thing hanging down from her dress, I'd say it's there to achieve that scuffed streetwear kinda look
