Street Chic - Queen Victoria Building

January 23rd 2007 11:20
I was in the QVB on Sunday afternoon and spotted this girl from the top of the stairwell (she was at the bottom with her boyfriend(?)). At first I thought she was wearing a dress but on closer inspection it became apparent that her 'dress' was actually a deceiving ensemble of tops and skirt:

Street Chic
Gorgeous girl © Sisi Kong 2007

- slim fit yellow tank from India with
- green Guess crochet short-sleeve bolero worn over it
- blue printed flowy skirt from India
- metal bellydancing/chain belt from India (very Bollywood)
- blue embellished sandals
- Hungry Jack's yummies
- massive Gucci-esque logo bag

She looked so hot!!! But I forgot to ask her name...how shameful If she (or the guy with her) is reading this, please comment and let me know what her name is!

David I knoooooow she was so stunning! Unfortunately for you I think the guy with her was her boyfriend...

Adele I loved her belt too! I've always wanted one of those bellydancing-style chain belts...I'd probably wear it around my neck instead though

Cibby it wasn't as loud as you'd think...

Sisi,

What are you doing up there No 1, I keep telling you I'm jealous. You're doing a great job.

Sweet young girls go for sweet young boys not recycled old ?arts, sorry guys, hee, hee, hee, you missed the boat. Girls are getting fussier and choosier nowadays.

Why don't you old guys go for old girls,....don't start getting abusive, that's no way to win an argument, let alone a female companion. Don't worry fellahs, I don't want you either. Ho Hum. And let's leave me out of it, it was you two declaring yourselves, not me!

Sorry, couldn't resist it Sisi, on behalf of all young women.

JohnDoe you're right, she does have an exotic genie-like look about her!!!!!!!!!!! Arabian Nights without a doubt

katyzzz do you mean No 1 as in popular Orble posts??!!?!??!?!! I've moved down in the stats emails though! Arrrgghh!!!
Oh and David/JohnDoe are both nice boys, but I'm pretty sure the girl in the pic is taken already anyway! And if I'm right, her boy seems like a very sweet guy, he was taking pics of her as I was and seemed quite proud of it all, it was very cute!

Sisi,

David and John are both grown men, and one of considerable age, the other I'm not sure of but they do need reminding of certain things.

Fortunately she's spoken for and not by some old geezer.

Happy Australia Day Queen Kong!

I've spent a wonderful morning waterskiing with my family...unfortunately we had to head home because Sydney day is looking a bit stormy...thought I'd hop on Orble and visit my favourite Orblers...although I do feel you'd be a Favourite Person to me in the physical world too Sisi....your joie de vivre is wonderful!

I hope you are having a wonderful day/weekend.

Goodness....Orblers were busy last night! My InBox is about to launch a protest window!

Sisi....I am sorry for doing this but I am completely flummoxed at the reaction to David and JD's comments.

I think Gorgeous Girl is hot!!

I'm almost 40 and a woman.
And seeing that that David is of "considerable age" and at most 8 years older than me and I'm pretty sure JD is around my age....

Does this make me a sapphic paedophile old geezer?

David and John are merely doing what the whole point is...expressing their appreciation of this beautiful girl.

As we all did.

I didn't realise there was a rule as to exactly who can appreciate beauty.

Are only painters supposed to appreciate paintings?
Is there a rule that says musicians and singers are the only ones who can appreciate music?
Are only old people allowed to view the Old Masters?
Are only young people allowed to listen to new songs?

So only young boys can appreciate that this girl is beautiful and she looks lovely?

Because when she dressed herself that morning before she left her house she wrote a big note and stuck it on her back "please don't look at me unless you are my age".

And forgive me...I must be really stupid...I didn't realise that Orble was a dating site because that's the only reason David would write a comment like that and not because he was being David and writing the way he usually writes because hello? his blog site name is Serious and Uptight.

This must also mean that JD is Larry Hagman.

What also puzzles me is what kind of mind immediately goes to the perverse and takes this as the gos-si-pel when reading comments made in jest?

After all you are the blog moderator and you can see that David and JD were getting in to the spirit of things and not telling all and sundry on a public forum that they are going to find this girl and get in on with her.

I am soo soooo thankful that my 75yo Father in law, my 73yo Mother in law and my 70yo Mother are too busy being happy and eternally youthful to stand on rickety pedestals and play judge and jury.
I am so lucky that these wonderful humans are my role models in ageing gracefully and with dignity and with satisfaction....because the sad thing is, not all old people are wise nor content nor aware.
Some are just bitter and frustrated and no disguise can hide this.

Sisi, please feel free to delete this comment. I couldn't resist...

I am writing this on behalf of me.

Sisi,

Excuse me for butting in on your site to post a comment relating to Dusk's previous comment ...

I rest my case, Your Honour, as to why I think Dusk is a Divine writer ...

And as to why I'm glad the elderly (apart from my own mother, who actually possessses virtues such as compassion and love, and has a brain she uses for good, not evil, and does have a heart, not just a foul Proddy, sanctimonious, holier-than-thou mouth, but lives by the example of both her actions and words?) aren't far from the grave??? ***

Grey-Lack-of-Power-&-Brain-Matter-Blue&Purple-&-Over-Colour-Fluorescent-Mind-Numbing-&-eye-hurting-Brown-Nosing-Pyschophantic-Arse-Licking-Vote-Baiting-Pixellated-Deaths?

Will they be celebrated in Adelaide?

"Damn Straight, Senator! Someone should come along and flush all this pixellated and text filth right down the gutter! Clean up the screens!" (Travis Bickle ... - Taxi Driver) ...

VOTE 1 for the death of modern (whatever it's called) and bring back REAL ART and REAL WOMEN! (not bitter, twisted dotty old ones, thanks ...

Oh my. I didn't realise a Street Chic post could cause so much controversy!

Dusk, Happy Australia Day to you too darling! I see where you're coming from, and I hope you'll agree with my response. On Style Space, katyzzz has as much freedom to react to David/JD's comments as they have to express their appreciation of Gorgeous Girl...and in the same vein, you have the freedom to voice your opinion on katyzzz' comments.

David, feel free to butt in all you want! I welcome your comments

PS This is not my way of sitting back and doing nothing as a moderator. I acknowledge that there appears to be a problem with conflicting opinions in this post, and while it saddens me that there is disharmony within the Orble family, I don't believe that anything overtly offensive has been said. If you disagree, you may report your concerns directly to me via Orble message and I will consider them carefully.
If you're an author of one of the above comments, I believe you're mature enough to assess the aptness of your comments, and I trust that you'll modify them accordingly. I feel that deleting any comments myself is unnecessary in this case. I'm a moderator, not a dictator. Thank you for reading!

Damn Sisi...

You put us old folk to shame.

Well said and I agree and I do apologise for perpetuating disharmony when this is something we all try to rid ourselves of.
I have reread my comment and will modify some points that I feel are personal attacks.
My flummox flux got the bitter of me.

Disharmony and vitriol are never in fashion.

Hope you had a great day Sisi hon...

Sisi,

Love your attitude towards modifying your post ... It's mature and professional ...

Regarding my comments ... I might have to write analogously ...

I'm not much of a painter. In fact I'm shithouse at it ... I can cartoon a bit ... but nothing like professional painters or cartoonists ...

So, when I'm doing a crappy drawing in MS Paint? ...I'll often look at it after I've done it (cos it's not really painting ... it's just mousing around ... *) ... And when I look at the finished product? I look at it with a critical objective eye and just go to myself: This is shit. This is crappy ... Sometimes I'll just wipe it out ... delete it ... or try again ... but I'll never be a real painter cos I've never been taught the craft ...

But when it comes to words?

I know what I'm doing with them ... And i'm not taking back a single word of what I've written on your post ... cos I mean every word I write ... (in relation to painting ...

Oh have you ever seen the Masters' paintings? Like real art? ***************************

Well look at this, I go away for a day, come back and Anarchy...

A comment I made in jest , in appreciation of the female form and in this case wearing an eye catching ensemble, ends up being controversial...Im quite insulted, couldnt I at least have used an expletitive to rock the boat..

David, Dusk and Sisi have said anything constructive that needs to be said (and a littel bit of destructive too which is good).....thanks guys
