Street Chic - Sydney University

May 31st 2006 14:36
Since I'm always talking about seeing fabulous outfits on passersby, I thought I should make it into a regular feature on Style Space. Every so often, I will post pictures of an awesome outfit I see on someone out on the streets (yes I will actually ask to take their photo!).

In fact, I asked a boy at uni yesterday - it was so embarrassing. I can't imagine how creepy he must have thought I was! Anyway, they're nowhere near the quality of other photos on the blog because I used my phone camera to take them, but here they are:

I don't usually approach guys and randomly ask to take photos of their outfits, but this one was too good to pass up. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to talk to him for long, as I was on my way to a lecture, so I have no idea where he got his cool clothes from, but I don't think any of his garments are directly off the runway. He seemed to be channelling a hobo/vintage look, particularly with the lack of shoes (not sure how practical that is at uni, but it seemed to work with the rest of the ensemble). Mmm so hot!

Sisi, you should write that those pictures qualify under fair dealing. You took them with permission, so YOU own them. It's your copyright!

and look at you, using the blog to get your flirt on!

Oh, nice going Sisi! I wonder if i could use the same reasoning with females for taking pics? "It's for my blog. I know you may think it has nothing to do with NBA basketball, but trust me sweetie - it does!" Haha

Cibby I thought I did write that they meet the criteria of fair dealing?! Down the bottom...the grey fine print thingy!

Stan I love dreads...if you get them back we can be friends

jon he does look a bit piratey doesn't he...but then again he mixes it up with that motorcycle jacket.

Bunbury I know you and Cibby won't believe me but I really wasn't trying to pick him up or anything...I was genuinely impressed with his outfit

Cibby - big and black. i had them done by pros. looked good but was very expensive.

Sisi - aw, i'm on my way to the hairdressers now! my hair has had a varied life mohawk, dreads, big ass 'fro, weird colours. now it's pretty normal due to my sell out part time job with an evil financial corporation! but since i am in the market for a new gig the funk in my do might be back!

Woo Stan! If you want a free men's haircut, you should go to RAW Hair 'Anthony Nader' in Darlinghurst. You can just call the salon on 02 9380 5370 and ask for Shaun (who's a second year apprentice) or just ask the front desk 'is Shaun available for a booking on Tuesday for a free men's haircut' and they'll book you in. Actually they have a range of offers, all by appointment with Shaun:
Free Wash n' Blowdry's all day Tuesday
Free Men's Haircut- 5pm Tuesday nights
Professional colour/tint - Wednesday evenings (only pay for the cost of the product, which is $20)
Just make sure you mention it's the 'free' one or for the apprentice training so they know.
Sorry that was completely random of me but I just thought I'd let you know in case you were interested.

Sisi, sorry, I wrote that wrong... what I meant to say is: you SHOULDN'T write those pictures are used under fair dealing. Since you own the pictures, you don't have to justify it at all. You can do anything you want with them!

So, you should REMOVE the small grey print, otherwise someone might use it for whatever reason. You could put '(C) 2006 Sisi Spicington' or whatever.

sorry for the mistake!

er, Sisi, I made this the Post of the Day, but instead of making some interesting commentary, I made up a whole fantasy world. I blame it on the 9 slices of pizza I ate for lunch. Please don't take offense!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Oh that's hilarious, you got Tom online, he's getting paid out like hell for this one. In regards to the jacket, it's from Japan and we all want it. But yes very piaratical indeed, which is perfect for my upcoming pirate party
Love this idea you got about taking people's pics on their outfits, hope you keep it up. Hardly susprised you caught Tom, he's got pirate hobo look quite down-pat
Oh yes, you don't know me hahaha.
Nice blog

Thanks for visiting Susy, how'd you find the blog? I felt a bit idiotic cos I realised afterward that I'd forgotten to tell him the URL so I probably seemed like some stalker chick trying to take a photo of him in an attempt to pick up...but see, the blog DOES exist

So his name's Tom!

hahahahah never mind he knows and I assume he's checked it out by now. I actually don't know where this came from, I just got home and had an email from a very amused friend who had sent on the link to this. Yes, Tim is the flatmate.

what could be better than being featured on Style Space AND starring in a fantasy story by the imaginative Cibby.

I think we need to set up a date between Sisi and this Tom character. Then Sisi can tell us all about it!!! Or at least get some more photos. I would love to see more of his outfits.

Do it
Do it
Do it!
