Category: Punk Kids Clothing
Rating: 5 out of 5 (as good as it gets - fantastic range, easy site, problem-free purchasing)
Since 2002, a pair of funky sisters started Rock Your Baby in order to create the kind of gear they wanted their kids to wear. Sick and tired of blue and pink and all things fairy tale, they decided they needed something that reflected the fact that they were rockin' inner city chicks. The rock and roll baby was born.
Easy to navigate and easy to buy, Rock Your Baby's site has clothing with a punk rock / psychobilly sensibility that mixes cool prints and slogans with practical kids clothing. Rock Your Baby have a variety of ranges, including Wild Child, which has hats and bibs through to bodysuits and pants in leopard print, snakeskin, tartan and a tattoo pinup fabric.
The Classic range is their staple with smart and sassy slogans which are sure to catch the eye of anyone at day care. "I'm With The Band", "Spit Happens", "The Future of Rock and Roll" and other punk styles are sure to keep Dad happy too. It's the kind of clothing you can imagine Joey Ramone would have bought for his kids, or maybe even Ozzy if it had been around when Kelly was a little tacker. With other cool phrases like "MotorBaby" and "I love Boobies" you can be guaranteed your bubba will stand out in the crowd.
For the wintertime, there is a wicked range of hoodies and cute jeans for the little ones who are able to walk. They come in a range for boys and girls, and include traditional 50's paraphernalia like the sparrow, as well as a "Bad Boys Rock" print. The transfers on the back say things like "From the Sand Pit, to the Mosh Pit". The hoodies have the coolest lining inside and go perfectly with the denims. They even have devil horns on the hood!!!! Who wouldn't want their little man wearing a cool outfit like this?
In summer there's a cute collection of dresses for the girls, in sweet retro and Japanese prints which will have the trendy drooling. I only wish they made them in women’s' sizes too! Of course you can also grab some little slipper type shoes...with rockabilly insignia such as flames, skulls, check prints and cherries, or my favourite the tattoo style below.
This is a great site for buying gifts for newborns, or for toddlers with wickedly cool parents. Rock Your Baby can be bought in selected stores throughout Australia and abroad (stockists are listed on line), but it's so easy to buy through their site, it may not even be necessary for you to hunt around.
Full information is provided on their site as to their purchasing, refunds and return policy and they have very reasonable shipping prices, and it's all done within 24 hours of the payment going through for your order. They do gift wrapping for only $3 extra, and you can pay online through their externally hosted payment site. The Gallery link features a heap of little ones in their Rock Your Baby gear which will get you well clucky.
This line of clothing is so much more relevant to some kids than the entire over exposed animated feature presentation culture that they see everywhere else. It also gives parents a bit of fun, and creates a great counter culture look for the kids to be involved in, rather than it being something foreign to them.
The cool chicks behind this label have said "Let’s face it, being a parent isn't all joy and wonder, so it's also our hope that Rock Your Baby can add a frisson of fun and irony to the modern parenting experience".
My opinion? Mission accomplished.

What a little cutie, love the mum and dad shoes best and I think the rest is more about mum and dad than the kids.

katyzzz - I agree, this is definitely aimed to please the parents - but aren't most kids clothes? Might as well funk it up a bit!
