PETA tries to stick Superbowl with Sex with Vegetables advert
February 2nd 2009 07:37
PETA is trying hard to convince the average American to stop eating meat, and they think they've hit on the perfect ad: combine sexy lingerie models with vegetables, hint at sex, and air the commercial during the Superbowl.
Success! Or is it? NBC rejected the ad, calling it inappropriate, which it probably is for a nation that blew a gasket over Janet Jackson's exposed nipple.
The ad itself is nothing more than a little odd, with this blogger happy to see more lingerie during the Superbowl - perhaps that'd liven up the game.
As always, though, it's FoxNews with the most tantalizing description of the ad:
"In it, lingerie-wearing women fondle broccoli spears, kiss pumpkins, and make all sorts of advances on their unsuspecting vegetables."
Wait - are you suggesting that it's non-consentual? Because that would be wrong... but, to me, that pumpkin looked like it wanted it just as much as the finely shaped blonde model with the push-up bra.
Here's the ad, in all its 'inappropriate' glory:
A little dull for your tastes, I know. You're the kind of reader that needs more explicit images to satisfy yourself. Perhaps a rutabaga in latex? Some shallots in a savage threesome?
I draw the line at root vegetables, simply because I don't feel that they can give total consent. As for those plump tomatoes on the vine - they're fair game.
PETA has a history of getting turned down for the Superbowl, though, as they're delighted to inform us. Check out their website for more details on their naughty videos, behind the scenes extras and information on why being a vegetarian is awesome for your sex life!
