Nicky Hilton presents Nicholai at New York Fashion Week
A small shock to people like me who like to only dip their toes in celebrity knowledge, Nicky Hilton, the sister that seems to wear underwear and, you know, "do stuff", launched her new clothing line as part of New York Fashion Week overnight. Labelled Nicholai , it featured more class than Paris has sense. Guess that wouldn't be too hard.
Tangerine Sequinned Dress by Nicholai
With all photos shown from Sydney Morning Herald, you'll see that there is an interesting mix of conservative glamour with sporty luxe L.A. style gear, suitable for the cashed up twenty-somethings. Apparently working very hard on the collection, she reportedly came through with the goods, and achieved her desire of not being "just another celebrity who wanted to see her name on a collection".
Sparkly Green Short Suit by Nicholai
Interesting jewel colours and sparkle mingled with on-trend capes and short shorts, and most items featured an embellishment of some kind, be it embroidery or sequins. Even a pretty white shift dress appeared and a retro short suit in black and white.

Looks as though Nicky Hilton means business.......fashion business. I’m sure with her available resources and what appears to be drive and ambition, she’ll go a long way. Particularly if she steers clear of her older sister.

PS. Did any of you know her real name was Nicholai? It makes her sound like a male Jewish traditional dancer. At least both of her eyes seem to point where she wants them to.

It's a very sad sad thing that I do know that her name is Nicholai.
Only because I had read a biography of the Hilton 'dynasty' and interviewed someone once who knew a lot about them...please note this was in the day when Paris Hilton was a famous hotel...not a ho-tell.
Oh God I can't believe I wrote that!! Well I did.
... and the days when Conrads and the Barrons (and Elizabeth Taylor and Zsa Zsa!) were the only Hiltons of note. Excepting the hotels of course
Anyway...
I thought she was a bag designer, yes? no?...and I do like the retro B&W suit.

No I didn't know her real name was Nicholai, but it makes sense. I thought it was weird previously that the parents would call one child Paris and the other Nicky or Nicole. But then maybe THAT made sense - becuase the one I thought had the strange name had the strange personality...?
