I was browsing through some of the collections that were shown at London Fashion Week last week, my favourite having to be the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2007 collection.
The range featured skivi's worn under long woolen knitted cardigans for men and women, belted at the waist for the women and worn over wide leg trousers for the men. These were layered under thick coats in varying lengths, in a mixture of greys, burgundies and plaid.
He has created so many layers of contrasting textures and prints. The heavy coats are worn over delicate mini dresses and opaque stockings, and wide leg woolen trousers are balanced out by flimsy detailed blouses. So suited to an Australian winter!
The cute accessories completed the collection; furry bonnets and berets with pom poms, long gloves and stacked skater style shoes and socks, and vintage inspired purses.
The overall look was a combination of Parisian school girl with a grungy skater feel.

I love the way the contrasting silky dress peeks out from underneath the cardigan and at the sleeves.
