K1X Clothing

February 27th 2007 10:14
I was on Anzac Parade in Kingsford the other day when I noticed this very shiny low rider bicycle hanging in the window of a clothing shop.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed how unique the inside of the store actually is. The whole concept for the clothing store, K1X, began in 1993 by a group of die-hard basketball players (who are still the head designers today). Their goal was to create a range of clothing for ballers only, both on and off court. Now, K1X clothing outfits a global team of ball players, and has also spilled onto the hip-hop scene, clothing dancers and musicians.

This is what founder and CEO, Christian Grosse had to say about K1X: “We do make a lot of stuff that is off-court, but for off-court basketball players, not off-court tennis players. Even our flip-flops and cashmere sweaters are obviously intended for ballplayers. That is what our customers have come to expect: basketball fashion”.

Although the store seemed a little empty when I was in there, I was assured that there’s a great new winter range about to arrive. And for those who aren’t really into basketball, the hoodies look really cozy, and there’s a great range of shoes. Otherwise, you could spend hours looking at the shiny bicycle…
