Janice Dickinson – To be envied and worshipped?

Janice Dickinson - A wild Ride
Disclaimer: This is just one man’s ramblings not the truth of the situation. This writer has never met the subject of this post, nor has he ever spoken to anyone who knew her.
Janice Dickinson was arguably the most famous of the supermodels for a stint. Spreading her empire of beauty to encompass fashion, film, TV, photography, writing and running a successful agency. On paper she is testament to female empowerment.
Now as a 50 plus MILF living a life of seemingly opulent rewards she parades around obviously intoxicated. Listening to her in unscripted conversation is superficial evidence of a possible cerebral malfunction and her generally man hungry persona developed in her early years still seems to follow her after 3 marriages.
Boasting of sleeping with most A list actors of sexual renown, it again sounds good on paper but not necessarily positive in practice. There is a lot to be said for leading a pampered life where you are worshipped for your jaw structure and hip size. Dating the rich and famous almost exclusively has it’s perks after all and one of them is a healthy ego.
So it has been said many times, Dickinson was always a handful to deal with and gloated of being the first ever supermodel because she believed she coined the phrase. So the story goes that back in the day her manager said to the unstoppable workaholic “You are not superman” and her quip was "I am not superman, I am a supermodel".
Regardless she capitalised on her fame and was proactive in her own rise to the top. The price is often being exploited in that special way not exclusively reserved for the catwalk set but all in the public eye to some degree. Then again at some time everybody would probably like to find out for themselves how they would treat similar attention and wealth.
Catching a glimpse of her reality show recently it just seems that her life is out of control. There was an elegance and poise to the boisterous and at least artificially quick minded vamp that seems to have vanished.
This is a frequent tabloid princesses story and with the younger generation rightfully facing harsh penalties for partying to hard, the extra publicity makes the cycle inevitable.
Point being, I don’t know how I would be, but I wonder if Janice Dickinson knows she has the potential to be the matriarch of the industry and could lead by example? So don’t look at this as a judgment on the individual, but rather on the image.
Signed
A fan.
Here’s an interview from a little while a go on CNN where Janice does what has become her usual song and dance.
