Gould St, Bondi Beach

Gould Street, Bondi Beach has been a bit of a shopping hot spot for a while now, but what always impresses me is the individual boutique stores that pop up every few months, and they’re all one of a kind! Famous to Gould St, and probably what put it on the map, is the old favourite Tuchuzy, one of the first stores in Sydney to stock Sass and Bide denim (before the label exploded onto the international fashion scene). Jatali has also secured her spot on the fashion scene with her Gould St store, home to her signature floaty dresses and flirty bikinis in exotic prints.
Since the early naughties, favourite Aussie designers One Teaspoon and Tsubi have opened stores in this trendy nook, and in 2005 now established Aussie gal Shona Joy, (who’s label is now stocked in David Jones as well as various boutique stores around Sydney) opened her flagship store just across the road. Her unique label is recognisable for it’s individual and elegant prints, girly dresses and playful, easy to wear shorts, playsuits and blouses.
Around the same time, From St Xavier appeared on Gould St, stocking labels such as Freesoul, Huffer, Buddhist Punk and Pani to name a few. The clothing is urban yet chic, and very unique, for both men and women. They also stock a great selection of jeans and accessories.
A new favourite, opened only 7 months ago, is Grandma Takes a Trip, unbeatable for vintage dresses, shoes, bags and accessories.
Finally, the two babies of the street, Sage and Milk Bar, have only been around for the last three months. Sage has an interesting blend of modern printed tees, beach dresses and jewellery with vintage boots, belts and bags, while its neighbour Milk Bar is home to labels like Manning Cartell, Billion Dollar Babes and Milk and Honey. The clothing at Milk Bar is very feminine, with a combination of bikinis, daywear and elegant cocktail dresses.
It’s not hard to see why Gould St has become an essential shopping destination for fashion fiends, and if all that doesn’t tickle your fancy, it’s also home to some of my favourite gelato!

Where are the gelato stores? ...
I can't go into women's fashion shops ...
The mannequins turn me on too much ... (If i didn't go in there in my cross-dressing outfits? ... they wouldn't let me into the change rooms ... Why do I do this ... ? ...
Um sicko? ... Yep ... that pretty much explains it ...

Tuchuzy and From St Xavier both have mens clothing and accessories, so does Grandma Takes a Trip if you're into vintage. Not sure if that's what you mean! That message is a bit cryptic...
But Pompei (the gelato place) is on the corner of Roscoe and Gould St. Enjoy!
