Last Year’s trends to DITCH
Anything Victorian – With the possible exception of a classic white button up with minimal detail which can be worked into the Masculine trend, Victorian will do you no favours this season. So say goodbye to your high necked, laced front tops, velvet skirts and gothic brooches.
Wedges – Sale bins are full of them at the moment, which means they’re going, going….gone.
Nautical – This was the trend that could. It tried so damn hard to take off, both this summer and last, but it just didn’t get there. And now that it’s winter, nautical stripes, white ¾ pants and jaunty sailor hats just don’t make sense.
Anything too Emo – Some of the Emo stuff can be reworked into the Mod and/or Punk trend (black skinnies, white t-shirts, red shoes, rock-tees etc.) but ripped stockings, smudged eyeliner and polka dots have left the building.
Mixing Bright Colours – Wearing those candy colours of last season (red, blue, yellow) all at once is on the way out. Winter is all about muted greys and charcoals brightened with a flash of red or pale yellow.
Polka Dots – I looked over at my wardrobe and saw a long sleeved navy blue polka dot dress that is definitely not being worn this season. And I suggest you
