Contestant for Miss England is country's first size 16 contestant
March 28th 2008 00:04
Chloe Mitchell is a 16-year-old girl that comes from Surrey, England. She's bigger than most girls, wearing a size 16, but that hasn't stopped her at all from being picked as Miss Surrey, going on to the Miss England competition in July.
Selecting Mitchell instead of the other girls, who were "equally all uniformly blonde and Barbie doll like"
From the article:
"Stevie Walters, of Models Plus, said that Chloe has a "luscious" figure at 5ft 10in, a size 16 and 38DD bustline.
She added: "Chloe is gorgeous-looking and we are sure she will be snapped up by fashion companies who want to project a realistic and achievable image to their customers."
While Mitchell is bigger than all of the other contestants, it's important to note that, in the final rounds, the intelligence and poise of the contestant can make or break the vote, as shown by Miss South Carolina in the Miss Teen USA 2007 pageant:

Louie, I can't decide if this is a good move or not. I'd like to hear why they picked her... the few quotes she had in the article didn't make her sound particularly articulate.

As for Chloe getting chosen- hopefully we'll see things like that become the norm instead of a surprising once-off. She's gorgeous. And it'll be a nice reassurance for everyone who isn't born looking like a stick insect that you ARE beautiful even if Television and Magazines don't say so.

I hope thats sarcasm!!?! You should be ashamed!!
She is not remotely attractive-real or not. Whats the point of a Miss England competition if the average girl next door wins it anyway??
Not a healthy image for impressioinable young girls to aspire to. Do we want the next generation of females to aspire to be obese like her??
And I don't think many men would lust over an image like that either. Yuk!
check out this link for a guys perspective:

Hope this is not publicised any further-we already have Wales, Scotland and Ireland laughing at this and wouldnt like the rest of the world to join in.
