City Style? Do Australian cities have their own style?

Now I was going to post the next of my "style icon" series, but there's something I've been thinking about that I want to put out there for discussion.
Do you think Australian cities have their own individual stye?
My first thought is yes, but I'd love to know what everyone else thinks.
I live in Brisbane but was born in Melbourne, and I can totally see a difference in style between the two cities. I'd love to know what people from other cities think.
So what's different? Well, I can't speak for other cities, but Brisbane has a very laid-back vibe, much more than Melbourne I think. For starters it's so much warmer all year round, that people just can't wear as much clothing. Even in winter, when it gets a bit chilly, most girls will wear a singlet, jeans, bright havaianas and a scarf, if it's really cold they'll swap the havaianas for boots. I find this hilarious, because seriously, if it's cold enough for a scarf, but a jumper on!
Bonds hoodies and Converse snearkers are also huge here, much more so than high fashion brands. Country Road bags are on every school girl's shoulder and I doubt there is any female under 25 in this city who doesn't own a denim mini or a pair of cuffed shorts.
Obviously I am generalising here, because there are plenty of women who think outside the fashion square, and as we get into winter I'm seeing more tights, pinafores, boots and all kinds of funky stuff, which I'm totally loving. Also, the Brisbane fashion scene is on the rise with more and more Brisbane-based labels are being launched every year (see my post on Vein Wear). But there is still a sense that Brissy girls prefer comfort over style, and to be fair most of the year it's just too damn hot to be fashionable.
So what about other cities? Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and all the rest (sorry, but I can't be bothered naming them all!), does your city have its own style? Let me know!
