Plus Sized beauty becomes a finalist for Miss England.
After the positive response to last weeks plus sized model introduction featuring the delectable Crystal Renn, I thought I would milk they topic a little more.
This week the telegraph.co.uk is reporting that Chloe Marshall, a 176 pound, size 16 has won the Miss Surrey beauty pageant in the UK. At just 16 years old Chloe is now a finalist for Miss England which will be decided in July.
Competing against 23 slimmer girls who fit the stereotypical image, the Guildford beauty therapist is proud of her curves and has developed a passionate following.
When interviewed by the telegraph.co.uk, Chloe has said:
"It's really exciting, I'm really, really happy. I'm lost for words, I started to cry and everything. I'm over the moon," she said.
"I wanted to go through to the Miss England finals to break through the stereotype that you have to be tall and skinny.”
"I wanted to make a bit of a statement. When I studied the other entrants for the Miss Surrey competition I concluded that pretty as the contestants were, they were equally all uniformly blonde and Barbie doll like.
"I want to show girls out there that it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard sized zero.
"My mum is really happy and proud of me that I am doing something not just for myself but other people as well and my friends are really supportive, they can't stop going on about it."
Wether she takes home the crown or not it is reassuring to know that the trend towards healthier body shapes is growing. After all, size 16 is actually the average dress size of woman throughout Britian.
