Nigella Lawson - The Delectable Model
It’s London fashion week and so I thought I might take a little peek at one Brit who constantly carries herself with elegance, grace and exudes an unspoken charm.
She may not be a fashion model or even an icon of style but what she does have is a healthy body image and approachable aura, she is Nigella Lawson.
In a world where the public eye seems to demand a wafer thin physique and superficial airs to support a projected image, Nigella is that rarity who refuses to cater to the whims of artificial perfection.
World Famous for her cooking Television shows Nigella Bites, Feasts and Express
And work as a food journalist she was born in 1960 to a respected British Politician father and socialite mother.
Coming from a wealthy family seems to have helped her avoid the usual trappings of fame. Her perspective may have also been shaped by the tragedy, of losing her mother, sister and first husband to Cancer.
There is a casual smoothness to the clothes she chooses when hosting onscreen, seldom dolled up to the nines but still fashion conscious. Playful and unashamed of her love for tasty morsels, she picks at the food making her seem even more “normal”.
Out on the town Nigella slips into the haute couture wardrobe with ease. Opting from time to time to highlight her ample cleavage, her curvaceous body fills out gowns and suits in all the right places.
Proving that starving yourself or exploiting fleshy bits is not a prerequisite to the look of healthy beauty, if only this attitude was adopted on the catwalks we may see designers accentuating the “every woman” instead of bony teens.
Here is an interview with Nigella where she discusses clothes food and sex.
