Celebrity Slumber Party - Pyjama Fashion
July 20th 2006 00:32
According to one of my readers, "PJ's are the best invention on earth!!!".I happen to agree - pyjamas are designed to be literally the comfiest garments available, since it's only practical to be comfortable when we sleep. Whether they're trendy or not is a hotly debated topic, but there appear to be tons of celebs willing to brave the controversy and wear them out in public, for example:
Wow, Sienna looks so cosy here, buried in her pyjamas under that stylish coat! I, too, am a big fan of oversized pyjama bottoms riding low on my hips - when it comes to pyjamas, I'll pick saggy over snug any day.
I think Mandy looks great, like the cutie pie girl next door. It seems many girls over here in California (where I'm currently holidaying) like the pyjamas-in-public look, and since it's summer, it's definitely warm enough to pull it off. I've taken to wearing my oversized pyjamas/boxers every day too.
Mischa appears to have jumped on the celebrity Primp bandwagon with this Primp pony thermal set. Primp thermals have also been spotted on Lindsay Lohan, Rachel Bilson, and Paris Hilton, all of whom don them as outerwear. To me, they look more like pyjamas than actual pyjamas, but they're much more close-fitting.
Mary-Kate's mixing up the pyjama look by wearing her PJ leggings with hot Christian Louboutin pumps (I love these shoes, I have the Tony Bianco copies)! The leggings don't look so much like actual pyjamas but I'd definitely wear them to bed or as thermal underwear, since they look less like footless tights (outerwear) and more like long-johns. In fact I wore leggings just like these as jammies when I was a kid. In the picture on the right I think she's wearing actual pyjama bottoms - it's shabby chic dahlings!
I find this trend of wearing pyjamas outside of the house quite liberating, and although it's by no means "chic" in the conventional sense of the word, I believe it'll only become more popular as more celebrities become bold enough to break the bedroom boundary.

I remember when celebrities used to do that and the tabloids just labeled them as tardy.
But they look so cute like this!

but they still look cute....=)
This designer (forgot who) said he was disappointed at celebrities now who don't care how they look in public when they go out, I suppose the trend is getting more obvious..

I think the fact that celebrities care less about how they look in public makes them more endearing and down-to-earth...I mean I know I can definitely relate easier to someone who's unafraid to be seen in their purple printed puppy pj's than someone who's dressed in high end designer gear (not that I don't appreciate it as fashion, I just can't relate cos I can't afford that stuff)

and, I have to say, I think girls in PJs are ultra-hot...no makeup, au naturel...

Yeah I've noticed guys seem to be really into PJs for some reason...is that cos they remind you of lingerie? Or is that only nighties...
