Adriana Lima

Adriana Lima: perfection in pulchritude. Yes, I’d argue she’s the most sensuously alluring woman in the world.
While she regularly features in the top 5 most desirable models, she just featured at #4 in the world’s richest supermodels. So I thought it about time I gushed about this most stylish and fashionable of modettes. Nothing adoring her slim, but oh-so-fine frame ever looks out of place.
She is my favourite model hands down, best known as one of the Victoria's Secret Angels, and for a short while as Lenny Kravitz’ fiancé (Jesus H. Christ Lenny, what did you do wrong?!)
Born in northern Brazil, on June 12, 1982, the 5'10'', steel blue-eyed beauty is an eclectic mix of French, Portuguese, Native American, and Caribbean heritages, undoubtedly blessed with parents who swam deep and luxuriously in the exotic gene pool of creation.
Adriana grew up in a very small town, much like her Brazilian co-workers - Gisele Bundchen and Ana Beatriz Barros - only to become one of the new millennium's brightest, most in-demand fashion personalities, a true star.
A rather startling fact about Adriana is that in four years she's never been to the gym. She puts it down to jeans … er genes. She eats plenty of meat and loves chocolate. Hmmm, I know a few fleshy, serotonin-saturated delights I could whip up for her in the kitchen! Adriana Lima’s modeling career began at a young age. She was only 13 when an agent discovered her at the mall. At 15, she won the Ford Supermodel Of Brazil contest and was placed second in the Ford Supermodel Of The World contest. Shortly after, speaking only broken English, she moved to New York City and signed a contract with Elite Model Management, aged just 16.
Adriana’s first big break came when she appeared high above New York’s Times Square on a Vassarette billboard. She quickly gained worldwide recognition for her work in the GUESS? Wailea , Los Angeles, and Costanoa campaigns. Within a few years, Adriana was a star in the modeling industry. Her early career consisted mostly of fashion editorial work (with early appearances in international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire in 1997/1998), as well as runway work (Christian Lacroix, Valentino, and others).
In 2001 Adriana Lima starred in BMW Films short, The Follow, directed by cinema style icon Wong Kar-Wai. It co-starred actors Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, and Forest Whitaker.
It may not represent fashion per se, but oozes pure style ... here's the short film:
“I love photography. Actually, I would love to be a photographer in the future. The "runaway" is a completely different experience. Everything is more alive. Everything has to be right and, as I was telling you before, you have to feel the music, the people, the clothes and the make-up. On it, you must be really strong and feel sure of yourself.”
Currently Adriana is dating Prince Wenzeslaus of Liechtenstein. She revealed in the April 2006 cover feature of GQ magazine that, per her Catholic beliefs, she was still a virgin (my jaw fell upon the floor when I first read this), explaining:
"Sex is for after marriage. [Men] have to respect that this is my choice. If there's no respect, that means they don't want me." She’s worked with some of the world's great image-makers: Steven Meisel, Patrick Demarchelier, Peter Lindbergh and Ellen von Unwerth, and appeared in the world’s top magazines: Vogue Italia, Marie Claire, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and others. She has been profiled on E! Entertainment Television, The Travel Channel, Viva, Extra.
Adriana is currently represented by New York's DNA Models.
So what is it exactly about Adriana Lima that hypnotises all who see her? Is it those long slender legs (all the way to heaven), those wonderfully toned thighs, those perfectly shaped real breasts, those naturally plump, but beautifully contoured lips, that ever-so-slightly puggish, but irresistibly cute nose, those soul-searing, diamond almond eyes? It all comes together – and The Devil created woman, not God - in a package that sets her apart from an already overcrowded cat-walk.
Adriana Lima … I would kiss the pedestal you stand upon. Instead, like millions of others, I will suffice with relishing your image and style. Thank you for the visual pleasure.

She's definitely the sexiest of the sexy supermodels in the world today! Those eyes are mesmerising!!
I remember reading somewhere that her gorgeous face is almost perfectly symmetrical!

It's all down to the - "if we all mix races we'll all end up beautiful" theory. She's living proof!
Nice post!

Film & TV on DVD
Those BMW films are a great ride, downloaded them all when they first came out. Directors like Guy Ritchie, Ang Lee, John Frankenheimer and Wong Kar Wai with some cool stars and smooth auto stunts. Well worth seeing all of them.
