The Chanel-cycle

Chanel bike bicycle
Here it is, the Chanel Bike

Chanel is one of premiere names on the catwalk and in commercial fashion attire. Branching into the accessories arena with the ludicrously successful range of perfumes, now comes a novel debut. The French label has unveiled a bicycle as part of 2008’s Summer/Spring catalogue.

Parking in Chanel boutiques this December (Just in time for Christmas), the bike is features in a collection saluting the prestigious fashion house and Coco Chanel’s adoration for sport.

Focusing on divine luxury as well as the all important cosmetic details, with the name Chanel attached you can rest assured this is much more than just a pair of pedals, a chain and two wheels.

The quilted leather seat is branded with the stylish house's signature double-C logo. Blossoming in the imagination of Karl Lagerfeld, the ergonomic, aluminum-framed eight speed bike blesses the owner with pedalling power in elite comfort.

Don’t be fooled though this is a chain-link propelled Rolls Royce that doesn’t come cheap. The price tag? More than $10,000 Australian dollars.

This environmentally friendly transport fights global warming and may be a great gift for Lance Armstrong or a Paris Hilton love child. The rest of us just have to sit back and wonder, how comfortable is that seat really?

Flip Flops Thongs Gallery
A gallery of choices

No need to flip and flop making the decision, for better or worse the Aussie thong, now rebadged as flip flops have left the sandy beach long ago. Gauging by response the comfortable, open air cooled footwear of choice will continue to thrive this summer season.

Ode to an Italian Dress

DOlce and Gabbana Summer 08 PAINTED BLACK DRESS
All images from http://eng.dolcegabbana.it

Flamboyant and theatrical, Dolce and Gabbana’s Summer 2008 collection is indeed replete with works of art. From the hand-painted fabrics, the obsession with intricate embellishments and details to the matte velvet lips, D & G invoke a Keats-ian realm - instead of a Grecian urn, this is my ode to an Italian dress

Her name may not be listed in the Greatest Swimming Olympians of this country, but Gloria Smythe’s contribution to the sport is arguably just as significant as that of any Olympic Gold medalist

Designing a crown fit for a Queen is no simple feat but Jewellery Designers Ana and Contessa Nicolaou of Tessarella House have become quite the experts since being announced as the Exclusive Designers for Miss World Australia two years ago.

We have all seen the power of the stylist. Before we knew it, Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe had Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Ritchie and Jessica Simpson all sporting drapey gowns over wispy thin bodies. One journalist touts that its only since Celebrities and Designers realised that revenue could be bought in from red carpet photographs, that the Stylist has forged a position in society on par to a Publicist and Celebrity Manager. They are THE ultimate accessory and Celebrities today dont leave home without them.

A new super power has emerged with the baby boom among CEO's, Supermodels and Hollywood's A-List - having on call one's very own Parisian Baby Stylist. I had the pleasure of catching up with the name in every starlets Little Black Book - Laetitia Lerouge

Who's Hot for Summer 08

Forget the unwearable items you see strutting down some fashion runways, european fashion speaks to the sillhouette and moves us back to the real aim of fashion - expressing ourselves AND flattering our body shape

Jakaan logo
From Jakaan.com.au

Up and coming Melbourne label Jaakan has only been around for a few seasons but already their favouring of beautiful fabrics and playful attention to detail has made me quite a fan. And yes, their logo is of a little boy peeing - a satirical contrast to their clothes which, despite a cheeky sense of humour are still not quite so crude. There is no mention of the inspiration for this logo on their website but luckily for the conscience of the average inner-city pinko leftie (guilty as charged) they refuse to use sweatshop labour
